Spacious Old Quebec penthouse with rooftop terrace

  • 6 Guests
  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 3 Beds
  • 1 Bathroom

Exceptional apartment occupying the top two full floors of a heritage building within the walls, located in the Latin Quarter of Old Quebec. You'll find two bedrooms with queen-size beds and large closets, two offices equipped for remote work, a bright living room, and a modern kitchen. Stone walls evoke historic charm, while a vast private rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the river, the port, and the Île d'Orléans Bridge.

Your accommodation

As you walk through the apartment door, you enter a practical vestibule with wardrobe, hooks and boot tray.

Ascending the first U-shaped staircase, you arrive at the bedroom level. The landing houses a bright workspace equipped with a desk, an HDMI monitor, a power bar, and a convertible futon that can be used as an additional bed.

The master bedroom is bathed in light thanks to its two glass walls. It includes a queen-size bed, a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and nightstands. A decorative antique fireplace and a stone wall add to the room's heritage charm.

The second bedroom also has a queen bed, a large wardrobe and a dresser. Its large windows and exposed stone wall create a warm and authentic atmosphere.

The full bathroom combines comfort and style with a multi-function tub/shower column, a modern sink, a large illuminated mirror, and practical storage. A wooden window brings light and character.

Another staircase leads to the living area upstairs. The modern kitchen is fully equipped: refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, Keurig coffee maker, and air fryer. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining room is welcoming and bright, highlighted by a stone wall decorated with niches and candles.

The living room includes a sofa, a flat-screen TV with Roku Express, a second desk with a monitor, and backlit built-in cabinets that add elegance and functionality.

A bathroom with washer and dryer completes this level, ideal for long-term stays.

Finally, a final staircase leads to the private rooftop terrace. Spacious and furnished with outdoor furniture, an electric BBQ, and string lights, it offers a unique panorama of the St. Lawrence River, the Port of Quebec, and the Île d'Orléans Bridge.

With its two full top floors and its private terrace, this rare accommodation feels like a heritage penthouse in the heart of Old Quebec.

The neighborhood

Located in the Latin Quarter, in the heart of Old Quebec, the apartment boasts an exceptional location just steps from City Hall and the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral. You are also close to Saint-Jean Street with its cafés, terraces, and boutiques, Montmorency Park, the Musée de l'Amérique francophone, the Séminaire de Québec, and the famous Château Frontenac, a must-see landmark of the city. Gare du Palais, which connects Quebec City to Montreal and several other destinations, is also within walking distance.

This UNESCO-listed heritage area blends history and urban life. Cobblestone streets, ramparts, and ancestral buildings immerse you in a unique atmosphere, where every corner reveals a piece of history. In the immediate vicinity, renowned restaurants, delicatessens, artisanal bakeries, and museums enrich your stay with a gourmet and cultural touch.

The neighborhood offers a rare balance between tranquility and vitality. Enjoy the authentic charm of Old Quebec, while being just steps away from major attractions, events, and historic walks along the ramparts. Here, everything can be explored on foot, and the silhouette of the Château Frontenac, dominating the landscape, adds a magical dimension to the experience.

Move

The apartment's location is ideal for enjoying Old Quebec without a car. With an exceptional Walk Score of 99, almost all attractions, restaurants, museums, and services are within walking distance in just minutes.

Gare du Palais, which connects Quebec City to Montreal and several other destinations, is also within walking distance, as is the ferry to Lévis. For public transportation, bus route 11 runs directly through Old Quebec City. The Place d'Youville terminal, an 11-minute walk away, provides access to the city's main lines, including Métrobus 800, 801, and 807, which provide quick access to other parts of Quebec City.

In season (May to October), the àVélo bike-sharing service offers a station just a 6-minute walk (400 m) away, at Montmorency Park, ideal for exploring the city on two wheels. Several other stations are also located around Old Quebec, making it easy to get to the Samuel-De Champlain Promenade or the bike path leading to Montmorency Falls.

If you have a car, be aware that street parking is limited and often busy during the summer. The easiest options are the paid underground parking lots located under City Hall, at Château Frontenac, and at Place d'Youville. However, given the location, it's generally more convenient and pleasant to stay without a vehicle.

Other information to note

We only accept stays of 31 nights or more.

The apartment occupies the top two floors of the building. Access is by stairs only. There are several flights of stairs between the common entrance and the terrace. If this is an inconvenience, this apartment is probably not suitable.

The interior of the building reflects its period character. The floors have slopes typical of older buildings and may creak slightly.

Wooden windows, although in good condition, are sometimes more difficult to open and close, without however affecting comfort.

As in any heritage building, soundproofing is partial. It is sometimes possible to hear sounds coming from the apartment below. In summer, with the windows open, you can also hear the bustle of the street, which contributes to the lively atmosphere of Old Quebec.

Heating is central hot water and there is no thermostat in the accommodation. The temperature can vary from one room to another: some are naturally warmer, others cooler.

There is no dedicated parking for the apartment. Street parking is limited and often busy during the summer. Several paid underground parking lots are located nearby, including under City Hall, at Château Frontenac, and at Place d'Youville.

To make your arrival more comfortable, a basic inventory of supplies is already in place: toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, laundry detergent and fabric softener, garbage bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, cleaning products, hand soap, body wash, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, cooking oil, salt, pepper, and a few basic spices. For mid-term stays, we follow a chain of kindness: each guest replaces what they use so the next one finds the same level of supplies. These items are there to make your arrival easier and to maintain everyone’s comfort.

The cleaning fee covers cleaning after your departure only. You are responsible for keeping the apartment clean and in good condition during your stay. If you require cleaning service during your stay, an additional fee will apply.

Location
